1. Wonwo “Best Overall Pillow for Snoring”

Best features of the Anti Snore Pillow by Wonwo

The first anti-snore pillow we will review is by Wonwo. It is a very well-rounded memory foam pillow that focuses on proper neck and spine support. The memory foam is soft and contours to your head and shoulders. The support you get with this pillow helps reduce snoring and improves airflow while you sleep.

The Wonwo company makes several types of memory foam pillows which are only available on Amazon. They only use CertiPUR foam which is free from harmful chemicals.

Their cervical model is the best-selling anti-snoring pillow they offer. It is available in one size which is 24″ long  x 13.8″ wide x 4.3″ high. The contour groove goes down to 2.5″ high to help with neck support. You should note that the loft (height) of this pillow is considered to be low. So if you prefer a higher loft pillow, you might want to consider a different one.

It’s unique design and loft makes it an excellent pillow for back, side and stomach sleepers. It also has a removable pillow caver that you can easily wash. Just make sure you don’t wash the memory foam.

Pros
  • 100% CertiPUR Memory Foam
  • Great for Side, Back and Stomach Sleepers
  • Amazon’s Choice Anti-Snore Pillow
  • Excellent Value
Cons
  • Only available in one size
  • Avoid if you prefer high-loft pillows

2. Visco Love “Best Sleep Apnea Pillow”

The next pillow in our review is the “Silver Sleep” by Visco Love. As you can tell by the picture above, it’s a contour memory foam that provides neck and spine support.

Visco Love uses a “Visco Elastic” type of memory foam which will slowly form to your head and improve support as you use it. This is a great feature which provides even more relief from snoring and sleep apnea. It’s also great if you use sleep with a CPAP mask, as it will begin to form around it as well.

Note: The company makes several different types of ergonomic pillows which are also available on Amazon. You can check here for current coupons and promotions.

The Silver Sleep model has a removable cover that’s easy to wash by hand or washing machine. Like other CPAP pillows, you should never put the memory foam in a washing machine. The heat and added weight from washing will distort the memory foam and ruin the contour. The memory foam is anti-bacterial, which fights odor-causing germs, and only requires washing if something get spilled on it.

The final feature I want to mention is hard to describe. I’m talking about the ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) feature. This is due to the silver yarns that are embedded in the pillow, which are permanent and don’t wash out. I’m still not sure what benefit this has to snoring or helping me sleep better. You can leave a comment below if you have more information about how this works.

Pros
  • 100% Visco Elastic Memory Foam
  • Contours to Your Neck and Shoulders
  • Works with CPAP Masks
  • Washable Pillow Cover
Cons
  • Only available in one size

3. Plixio Memory Foam Cervical Bed Pillow

Next we reviewed the cervical pillow by Plixio. Like the previous pillows in our review, it is solid memory foam. As you can tell from the picture above, it has a lower-loft and higher-loft depending on your sleep position. The lower loft pillow is great for side and stomach sleepers, while the higher loft is better for back sleepers.

The contour in the memory foam helps you sleep better at night by providing support for your neck. Proper back and neck alignment are the best ways to reduce snoring and get more Z’s. Plixio also provides a 2-year warranty to protect against damages and defects, as another way to help you sleep better at night.

Plixio also provides a removable bamboo pillow cover that’s easy to wash and maintain. Another advantage of having a bamboo pillow case is they are hypoallergenic and extremely soft.

The standard anti-snore pillow from Plixio measures 20″ long x 12″ wide x 3″-4″ high. It’s very light for a solid memory foam pillow and weighs less than 2 lbs. This makes it a great travel pillow as well.

Pros
  • Orthopedic Contour Design
  • Supports Neck and Shoulders
  • Bamboo Pillow Cover
  • 2 Year Warranty
Cons
  • Only available in one size

4. Coop Home Goods “Softest Pillow for Snoring”

Another great pillow to help with snoring is the adjustable-loft shredded memory foam pillow by COOP Home Goods. This is the only pillow in our review that allows you to adjust the loft of the pillow to suit sleep habits. This means you can remove some of the filling to lower the pillow for stomach sleepers, or add more filling for sleeping on your side or back.

Adjusting the loft of the pillow will align your neck and back for customize-able support. The softness of the shredded memory foam allows you to adjust the pillow for CPAP masks as well.

The pillow has a removable bamboo pillow cover that you can wash normally. You can also remove the shredded memory foam filling and wash it as well. Just make sure it is completely dry before filling it back in the pillow. It comes in 3 different sizes, Standard, Queen and King. The standard pillow is 20″ x 26″, the Queen pillow is 20″ x 30″ and the King pillow is 20″ x 36″.

Coop Home Goods’ pillows are Made in the USA and only uses CertiPUR foam. They must meet the strict standards of the FTC and follow all their rules and regulations. They provide a 5 year warranty to guarantee it will not go flat. You also get a 100-Night Sleep trial or your money back.

  • Over 16k Positive Reviews
  • Adjustable Loft Pillow
  • Bamboo Pillow Case
  • 5 Year Warranty
Cons
  • Might be too soft for some

Commonly Prescribed to patients with sleep apnea, a disorder characterized by temporary loss of breath during the night. Because most CPAP users sleep on their sides, their mask may press into their pillow. As a result, they often experience discomfort around the nose and other areas where the pillow may be putting pressure onto the mask and face.

This Pillow offers the perfect solution and is ideal for any type of sleeper as the design ensures that your mask will not be dislodged during the night, and the indentations in the pillow allows you to sleep any which way, without the discomfort of the mask putting painful pressure on your face.

Upgrading your pillow isn’t the only way to get relief from snoring and sleep apnea, but it’s one of the easiest steps you can take. Below you will find a description of other types of devices you can buy-from-home to relieve sleep apnea symptoms.

  • Contour Pillows- Replacing your pillow with one specially designed to help with snoring is the most common step you can take for sleep apnea relief. Contour pillows provide support to your neck and spine to adjust and open airways. They are also great for back pain and shoulder aches, which makes them very common, even if you don’t have sleep apnea.
  • Orthopedic Pillows- If you’re having trouble sleeping due to sleep apnea, you very likely also have back and shoulder pain. Orthopedic pillows align your back and shoulders to relieve back pain while you sleep. These pillows are softer than contour pillows but don’t accommodate for CPAP machines as much.
  • CPAP Pillows- People who suffer from sleep apnea often have a CPAP machine and wear the mask at night. The mask is very uncomfortable and the machine is noisy. However, you can get a pillow which is specifically designed to accommodate the CPAP mask and provide additional comfort while you sleep. These CPAP pillows have additional contours on the sides to allow you to move around without interfering with the CPAP hoses.
  • Solid Memory Foam Pillows- So far we covered 3 different pillow types which are all made with solid memory foam. Thus making it the most common type of pillow for snoring due to the ability for companies to mold it into different shapes.
  • Shredded Memory Foam- Finally I want to mention how a shredded memory foam pillow can help with snoring and sleep apnea. They aren’t specifically designed for that purpose but you can adjust their height for great results.

These devices are and expensive option, and can only be obtained with a prescription from your doctor. The discomfort from CPAP masks is the main reason people look for alternate methods to relieve sleep apnea.

Benefits of Using Pillows for Snoring and Sleep Apnea

Why should you spend the extra money and buy a special pillow to stop snoring?

Sleep apnea is a treacherous illness. This is because the majority of signs of this health condition show up during sleep. The fact that 1 in 50 people in America are actually victims of this sleep disorder but are not even aware of it further corroborates the kind of games the symptoms play with the victim.

Some habitual snorers who suspect the onset of this condition record the sound of breathing during sleep to catch noise of choking and gasps. The frequent choking and pauses in breathing are called apnea episodes. Such pauses are caused by obstruction in the air way, impeding normal air flow during sleep. Obstructive sleep apnea, the most common type happens when there is a complete collapse and blockage of the upper airway tract.

The serious sleep deprivation caused by sleep apnea has repercussions the next day. Excessive daytime sleepiness haunts you and you tend to have frequent naps that interfere with your studies, job, etc.

The whole situation can be better managed with the use of sleep apnea pillows. These specially designed pillows primarily help in putting an end to snoring. They do so by keeping the head, neck, shoulders and spine better aligned so that the airway remain open during sleep. The pillows also help in fixing your sleeping posture, a prerequisite to stop snoring.
